You want to write the first chapter of your PhD project? But you don’t know how to start? Or you’ve already written a few pages, then stopped and now you need to get back into writing? Do you usually work on your own, but want to be productive together with other PhD candidates?

Then attend the digital PoGS writing day! Whether you’re researching literature, writing an exposé or working on a chapter – you can be productive together with us. Your PoGS PhD  representatives would like to support you in getting started with your writing. We will guide you through the day using the Pomodoro technique. This means that we take a 5-minute break after 25 minutes of highly focussed work. Like the classic tomato clock, we remind you when to get back to work. For those who need a longer focus time, we also offer a 50-minute concentration time followed by a 10-minute break.
You can also get to know doctoral candidates from different disciplines and network in a morning breakout session. With the support of Prof Dr Winnie-Karen-Giera, Faculty of Humanities, and the Academic Sports Center, we will also make the breaks productive. There will be input on writing as well as active exercise breaks for you.

You can join in at any time. How much does it cost? It’s free for you. The offer is kindly supported by PoGS, Prof Dr Winnie-Karen Giera and the Academic Sports Center.

Our aim is to support doctoral candidates. We want to be productive together in a friendly atmosphere. Everyone will work on their own text or topic. Of course, those who do not yet feel ready to write are also welcome. This means you can also use the writing day in the exposé or research phase. Postdocs are also very welcome.
