Brandenburg<\/h1>\n\t

One network for a multifaceted academic landscape<\/p>\n<\/header>\n\n\n\n\n

The Postdoc Network Brandenburg (PNB) supports postdocs as well as scientists doing artistic research. As a joint state-wide initiative for the career development of postdocs, our approach is unique in Germany. The PNB was founded to develop the full potential of postdocs working at the state’s academic institutions. The partners involved cover the entire spectrum of academic research: from basic scientific research to application-oriented and technological research to artistic and art-based research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pooled competence<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The PNB unites all existing and upcoming qualification programs and facilities for postdoc support at Brandenburg\u2019s universities. This will give postdocs in Brandenburg access to comprehensive talent promotion and support in their career development. At the same time, the network creates ideal opportunities to connect with peers outside of one\u2019s own academic institution and form peer groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The network provides a broad, modular portfolio of career counseling, continued qualification and networking opportunities. The offer is specifically tailored to the needs of postdocs. It builds on individual skills and potentials, supporting postdocs\u2019 career development for different professional fields. The participating partners\u2019 proven as well as newly developed offers for continuing qualification are bundled, interconnected and evolved. Complementary event formats are planned and executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equal opportunity as cross-sectional task<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Creating equal opportunities for all groups of participants is a cross-sectional task for the entire network. As certified family-friendly universities, the partners offer family-friendly infrastructures that are available to all postdocs. Barrier-free access is ensured at all events to enable unrestricted participation. The PNB offers postdocs with disabilities multiple opportunities for individual counseling and integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Potentials for Brandenburg<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

The combination of regular funding and top-level funding draws outstanding national and international postdocs (high potentials) to the state of Brandenburg and its scientific institutions. This also strengthens the attractiveness and sustainability of Brandenburg as location for the arts and sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

    Network for postdoctoral career development<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    In 2018, the University of Potsdam, the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg, the European University Viadrina and the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf signed a cooperation agreement on a network for the career development of postdoctoral researchers in Brandenburg. The partners use the synergies of their postdoc funding and jointly develop their support services for successful career development after the doctorate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\"gitter-profil-2\"\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Integrative strategy<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    As network partners the universities use their joint potential for the specific support and visibility of scientists with doctorates in the state of Brandenburg and thus better tap the potential of the target group. This integrative strategy achieves greater diversity and equality of opportunity, as well as connectivity to current scientific and sociopolitical issues and challenges. In the medium and long term, more excellent postdocs will complete the central career phase in the region under optimal conditions and thus build lasting ties to Brandenburg’s universities and research institutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\"gitter-profil-1\"\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Funding for Excellence<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Strengthening scientific autonomy and independence<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Top-level funding financed by state funds represents an important network component. In 2019, the first call for proposals for the two funding lines “PNB Junior Research Group” and “PNB Individual Grant” was launched.
