{"id":1657,"date":"2023-01-23T16:03:39","date_gmt":"2023-01-23T15:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.postdoc-network-brandenburg.de\/dr-eleni-ira-panourgia\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T11:59:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T10:59:16","slug":"dr-eleni-ira-panourgia","status":"publish","type":"pnb_fellows","link":"https:\/\/www.postdoc-network-brandenburg.de\/en\/dr-eleni-ira-panourgia\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Eleni-Ira Panourgia (Alumna)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<header id=\"article-header-block_822f6ea659e2941d29661d7fa1c570fb\" class=\"article-header entry-header\">\n\t<h1 class=\"article-headline\">Dr. Eleni-Ira Panourgia (Alumna)<\/h1>\n\t<p class=\"article-teaser\">Listening to Climate Change research project investigates the creative potential of sound and new media formats for establishing a direct immersive and affective connection between humans and the ecological impacts of climate change.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group pnb-qa\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The main objective of the project is to develop creative methods specific to the transformation of existing soundscapes based on environmental variables and climate change scenarios, and to explore how participatory engagement with everyday sounds can generate new insights into auditory perception of the environment. The resulting sounds will offer reimagined and speculative versions of soundscapes as a way to navigate and experience plausible future states of human and more-than-human life.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following this individual grant program, I plan to continue my research and creative work in sound from an interdisciplinary perspective, and further explore the new directions that my current project is taking towards other fields e.g., environmental science.
